Biografia

The Pretenders, rock band anglo-americana nata nel 1978 e tutt'ora in attività. Debuttano con il singolo Stop your sobbing, cover di un brano dei Kinks, che ottiene un immediato successo e consente al gruppo di pubblicare il primo album, Pretenders.

La band è segnata da due morti per overdose: quella di James Honeyman-Scott, nell'82, e di Pete Farndon, nell'83. Ciononostante i Pretenders tornano sulla scena musicale qualche anno dopo. L'ultimo album, Pirate Radio, è del 2006.
